I'm doing a number of things that it's too much hassle to do, but they're not what I'm paid to do, nor want to do.
Just getting together the information for taxes is a pain. But I'm doing it.
And the city government is giving me the runaround about some damage that was done to a corner pillar here a few years back. Council person isn't responsible, public works isn't responsible, city attorney's office hasn't done what they should have done, the teenage driver involved isn't responsible, and his responsible adult has, apparently decided they're not responsible, too. Informally, I've been told that it's been
too long since for the city to do anything, and the people in the neighborhood have no standing, either.
I ran across the quote below on the Dialogue Project website, http://www.scultura.com/dialogue/index.shtml
"What the world really needs is more love and less paperwork." (Pearl Bailey)
That's what I need, in particular.
I'm up to 9 raccoons transported now, and there are at least two more around. The trap is set, so I expect to make another run tomorrow.
And I'm cooking enough for myself so I actually froze some stuff today, and ordered a bunch of spices from Penzey's, so I'll be ready to be more ambitious.
